Personal Information:
Glenn came to Westmont in 2003 after teaching at Wheaton College (IL) for 21 years. He serves as the chair of the Kinesiology department and teaches a variety of upper division and physical activity courses. His primary teaching interests lie in the areas of human nutrition, sport nutrition, clinical nutrition, exercise physiology, and clinical exercise physiology. His primary research interests are related to over-the-counter drugs and sport performance, endurance performance and hydration.
An enthusiastic outdoorsman, Glenn for many years directed the Honeyrock outdoor education experience. He is an avid cyclist with interests in bicycle road racing, camping, hiking, fly fishing, and mountain biking. Some of his athletic accomplishments are:
- 1st place, King of the Mountain Century Series, 2010
- 2nd place, National Marathon Mountain Bike Championships (60+), 2010
- 1st place, Leadville Trail 100 Mountain Bike Race (60+), 2010
- 1st place, California State Team Trial Championships (Masters 55+), 2006
- 1st place, Everest Challenge State Climbing Championships (Master’s 55+), 2005
- 1st place, Everest Challenge State Climbing Championships (Master’s 55+), 2004
- 24th place, Hawaii Ironman World Championships, 1983
