Film (in multiple formats) and flexible scoring available for many silent film classics including the original 1915 scoring for the Boston Symphony Orchestra of Cecile B. DeMille’s “Carmen,” works of Chaplain, Keaton, “Phantom of the Opera,” “The General,” “The Mark of Zorro” and more.
Royalty and rental charges reported at the time of this presentation were $1 per seat.
The composers below offered their personal contact information as listed in response to the composer survey for this study, having also indicated a willingness to work with collegiate conductors for commissioning and other special projects. In all cases composers indicated that fees were negotiable, sometimes within stated parameters. Fee ranges ran from “zero” to $35,000, with most under $5,000 for works of 10 minutes or less.
