Psychology/Neuroscience Laboratory
The Psychology/Neuroscience Lab is laid out as shown below. The Neuroscience lab (PNL 101) is to your left as you enter the front door; the Human and Animal Behavior lab (PNL 103) is to your right. The vivarium (PNL 102) is straight ahead. Off the Neuroscience lab is the Perception and Motor Learning Laboratory (PNL 101A).

Neuroscience Laboratory (PNL 101)
The Neuroscience Lab is used for the psychology and biology courses in the Neuroscience major as well as the physiological psychology course. Students can perform dissections, perfusions, and lesions, among other procedures. Digital cameras allow recording or display of brain sections.
Human and Animal Behavior Laboratory (PNL 103)
The Human and Animal Behavior lab is used for the operant conditioning of animals and to carry out computerized experiments in Sensation and Perception and Cognitive Psychology. The operant conditioning chambers are computerized, so that the animal can be automatically reinforced for performing the correct response. Students use the computers to perform research studies. Their responses are recorded on the computer and saved into a data file. These files are then available to be FTP'd to students' personal computers so they can analyze their data for the lab assignment.
