YURI OKAHANA is an experimental scenographer based in LA, who is originally from Tokyo, Japan. She is a resident scenic designer and instructor of Design for Theater at Westmont College. Her areas of expertise include scenic design, scenic painting, model making, and props design & construction. Past design credit at Westmont include Blood Wedding, As You Like It, Dido Project, La Serva Padrona, The Old Maid and the Thief, and Good Day.  Yuri recently became resident scenic designer at Pandora Productions, which specifically focuses on producing new plays and its own festival. Her freelance design credit include In Kings and Fools and Sweet Texas Reckoning (Best Theater list of 2016 by OC Register) with Pandora Productions, Kill Climate Deniers, The Balcony, DARKSIDE (U.S. Premiere ), and PINKMILK (West Coast Premiere) with The Garage Theater, The Exit Interview with Buzzworks Theater Company, The Boy From OZ (Ovation Award Best Musical Production Winner) with Celebration Theater and more. She holds an MFA in Scenic Design from CSU, Long Beach and her design work has been exhibited at design showcases in NYC and at UCLA, as well as at Театр Поколений (Theater of Generations) in St. Petersburg, Russia
