Potter's Clay Week: March 11-18, 2005

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO

1. Register completely online (see link below) no later than Friday, January 21th, 2005.
2. Give us a copy of your passport or birth certificate with photo ID by January21th mail your passport copy to:

The Potter's Clay office through inside mail by simply labeling the envelope “Potter’s Clay”

Important Passport Information

  • You must begin application for a passport no later than December 2 or you may not recieve it in time to complete the registration process.
  • You can begin registration as long as you have a passport, passport in process, or a birth cerificate with photo ID.
  • Passports can be obtained from your local city hall or post office.
  • There will be no late registrations after January 21th accepted this year due to increased immigration regulations.

    BILLING INFORMATION

    The Potter's Clay registratin fee is: $85, in addition we ask that you write 15 support letters to raise money for the week-long trip.
    • The actual cost of Potter's Clay is approximately $400 per person, however we only charge you $85. Thus we ask for the letters to compensate for the cost. (This is extremely important)

    • Students: The registration fee will be billed directly to your student account in early Feburary. Please inform your parents of this billing procedure.

      Non Students, Staff and Faculty:
    • Please make checks payable to "Westmont College" with "Potter's Clay" in the memo line.

      Refund Policy:

      A full refund will be given for any cancellations on or before January 21, 2005.
    • Cancellations after January 21, 2005 becomes a donation to Potter's Clay.


    Service Teams

    Criteria for team assignments are class rank, experience, personal talents and language skills.

    Potter's Clay ServiceTeams
    VBS (Vacation Bible School)
    VBS teams will be doing a week-long children's program including crafts,
    music, games and skits with the intent of showing Christ's love to the
    children of Ensenada and building relationships with the local church and
    community. Note: VBS is in need of guys, so if you're a guy and like kids,
    please consider doing VBS!
    Praise and Worship
    The team will partner with the Mexican worship team to lead prayer and worship at various events. The team will also visit different sites to pray and encourage the body of Christ.
    Kitchen
    The Kitchen team works together behind the scenes to prepare meals for the rest of the Potter's Clay teams.  This includes preparing sack lunches, cooking dinners and breakfast, and all set up and cleaning.
    Medical/Dental
    The Med/Dent team travels together to different sites every day and puts on free general medical, dental, and optometry clinics.  Students work alongside volunteer doctors from both the states and Mexico, assist dentists, run  the pharmacy, take vitals (triage), sterilize equipment, and organize patients waiting for treatment.
    Haircutting
    Those on the hair-cutting team will be trained in cutting hair prior to PC week.  During the week the team will be stationed at different sites and offer free hair cuts.  No experience in haircutting is necessary.
    Construction
    The construction team will be building 7-8 sites throughout the city.  Most of the sites will be focused on constructing new homes for needy families connected with local churches.
    Sports
    The sports team will be playing mostly soccer against some competitive teams in Ensenada.  We will also compete in some basketball and volleyball games.

    • Registration deadline: January 21, 2005
    • You can register as long as you have a passport, passport in process, or a birth certificate with photo ID.
    • Everyone must send in a copy of their passport or birth certificate with photo ID by January 21, 2005.
