Group PhotoA Thai Travelogue

In May, a group of adventurous alumni and parents traveled to Thailand for a two-week study tour.

From exotic beaches to mountain villages, a group of 28 alumni and parents explored the beauty and uniqueness of Thailand.

Akha Village PhotoAlumnus Mike Leming '69, who teaches sociology at St. Olaf College as well as at Chiang Mai University in Thailand, led the trip.

Westmont Campus pastor Ben Patterson and his wife, Lauretta, accompanied the group and led devotional sessions. Mary Hubbard Given '76, executive director of alumni and parent relations, and her husband, Dean, also participated.

"We had a wonderful time seeing Thailand while learning about its history, culture and religion," Given said. "A highlight was attending church in an Akha village in northern Thailand and enjoying lunch in village homes."
