Parking
Baccalaureate
Parking on the campus can be a challenge. Even though attendance is limited to those who have a Baccalaureate ticket, we encourage carpooling to help with our limited parking situation. Signs and parking attendants will direct you to available parking spaces.
It is suggested that you plan to arrive on campus by 5 p.m. for the 6 p.m. service. Traffic will be one way and all cars must enter at the top entry of the campus off of La Paz Road.
Commencement
There is limited parking on campus for our guests. Each graduate will be given one Commencement Parking Permit to be used by the graduate or his/her guests. Every car will need a Commencement parking permit displayed in the driver’s side of the dashboard, in order to park on campus that day. The regular Westmont parking permit is not sufficient.
Please do not park on adjacent streets and walk to campus. We are trying to be good neighbors to those who live in the area.
Most of our guests will be parking at Santa Barbara City College (SBCC). Cars that do not display a Commencement Parking Permit will need to park there and guests will ride a free shuttle to and from Westmont. There will be signs directing you to the parking area and the shuttle pick up. Please arrive at the SBCC lots, #2c and #3 on Shoreline Drive. The buses will run continuously from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Patience will be necessary as there will likely be lag time between shuttle runs especially immediately following Commencement.
Allowing ample time to get to campus and get seated is advised as traffic, parking and walking time need to be considered. We suggest that you plan to arrive at SBCC before 8 a.m.
Traffic will be one way on campus and all cars must enter at the top entry off of La Paz Road. At 10 a.m. we will temporarily close the road and will resume once again after the 500 graduation marchers have walked through the campus and across the road.
