Santa Barbara Maritime Museum

Position: The Education Assistant & Volunteer Coordinator acts as support staff for a variety of education projects and works in close, daily contact with the Education Coordinator. This position also oversees all Maritime Museum volunteer programs and is responsible for the development and assessment of the volunteer program as a whole. The Education Assistant and Volunteer Coordinator reports directly to the Director of Education and should be a flexible, energetic, and assertive individual willing to take on and personally manage various tasks and projects.

The SBMM staff work closely together and collaboration between departments occurs on a daily basis. Clear inter-departmental communication is essential to the daily operations of the Maritime Museum. A candidate must be able drive and be willing to run errands as program logistics necessitate.As many of the events and projects occur outside normal business hours (i.e. evening and weekends), flexibility of schedule is necessary.

Position: Internship at United Way
Location: Santa Barbara, CA
Description: The internship is an opportunity to help make a difference in the local community. In particular, the intern will support the efforts that go into one of our major community collaborations by assisting with volunteer coordination.Representatives must be available between June 23 - August 8, with an Orientation meeting and some preliminary training TBD during the week of June 16 – 20th.Interns will serve as on-site United Way representatives and are responsible for the following: Set-up check-in; Meet and greet volunteers at check-in; Ensure volunteers comply with program policies; Ensure a positive experience for volunteers and maintain positive relationships with program staff and program participants; Understand and communicate the value of United Way’s Community Impact agenda; Other relevant office or on-site work as needed; Help administer the FITS pre- and post- evaluations in week 1 and 6. Position: Surveyor - Community Outreach

Position: Behavior Analyst
Location: Lompoc, CA
Description: The behavior analyst supports the unique needs of children with developmental disabilities and their families. The behavior analyst is responsible to conduct observations and interviews, develop a behavior assessment and treatment plan, and teach the family how to support the child using the plan. The behavior analyst collects data, monitors progress and provides regular reports on how the child and family are doing with the plan. The focus is on behaviors that promote independence and inclusion. Training, supervision and support are provided for all of these tasks. The work takes place in Santa Barbara, Carpinteria and Goleta. It is helpful to have experience or interest in psychology, social services, communication, education or developmental disabilities. Description: The Los Angeles County Arts Internship Program provides 10-week paid summer internships (40 hours/week) to eligible full-time undergraduate college students. Students are paid $350/week to work in nonprofit literary, performing and presenting arts organizations and municipal arts agencies throughout Los Angeles County. To be eligible to participate, students must meet the following criteria: Students must be currently enrolled (full-time) in a community college, four-year college or university program, and have completed at least one semester; Students must be an undergraduate and not scheduled to graduate before December of the year in which they participate; Interested students are not required to have demonstrated a previous commitment to the arts; Students must either reside in Los Angeles County or attend school in Los Angeles County. Position: Urban Institute Summer Internship

Position: Federal Career Intern Program – Management Analyst Intern

Description: The FCIP is a two year entry-level program designed for full time employment and career advancement to develop civilian leaders of a multi-functional workforce for the 21st century. Interns will receive developmental opportunities, through both classroom and on-the-job training, to develop and enhance analytical skills and techniques.  You will acquire knowledge of Army structures, policies and processes.  Using fundamental analytical techniques you will analyze and evaluate organizations and activities.  Working under the guidance of senior analysts you will participate in studies of complex organizations, functions and processes. Position: Gaithersburg Presbyterian Church Summer Youth Internship

Location: Gaithersburg, Maryland

Description: Job Dates: May 22nd-August 10th. Applications should be sent as soon as possible. Interns will have an experience as close to a real Youth Director's as possible, with lots of creative freedom, and also leadership support. Interns will be 1. Preparing and leading weekly youth group programs. 2. Preparing and leading weekly Sunday School times c. Plan and lead special activities (service projects, fun times, etc.). d. Plan and lead the mission trips and fun trips, which will be described later on for you. e. Attend meetings that deal with youth ministry f. Description: One of the many missions of Trinity Baptist Church is to train Christian leaders who will one day consider a career of vocational ministry as their lifetime service to the Lord. Position: Club Christ Ministries College Internship

Description: College internships are available at Club Christ Ministries to equip students for ministry in the urban context. Located out of Las Vegas, NV, we provide many opportunities for students looking to serve urban youth and their communities. This small, relational ministry is an ideal place for students to get an understanding of community-based youth ministry. Position: Ministry internship at Mercer Island Presbyterian Church

Location: Mercer Island, Washington

Description: Interns are usually post-college young adults who are interested in exploring ministry in the church setting. Interns are selected because of their demonstrated leadership among their peers and students, maturity in their Christian faith, and a desire to see others come to know Jesus Christ. The interns will work with the Associate Pastor to Students & their Families and the Director of Middle School Ministries in carrying out their primary responsibilities to 6-12th grade students and their families. We will employ three full-time interns each year. Interns will be assigned to focus primarily, but not exclusively in middle, high school ministries or music ministries. Position: Internship with Prison Fellowship Ministries

Location: Lansdowne, Virginia

Description: Internships encompass a variety of fields of study including: marketing, business administration, events, liberal arts, public policy, criminal justice, research, political science, and information technology. Our program provides students with practical work experience in a Christian environment, while structuring the internship to meet the students’ academic requirements. All interns also participate in stimulating events such as visits to Capitol Hill, meeting with Christian political leaders, and worldview Bible studies. Position: Internships with Project Vote Smart

Description: The Project Vote Smart National Internship Program provides a unique lesson in the study of American politics. Students from across the nation and around the world come to our high tech research center in the Montana Rockies for ten weeks to help American citizens educate themselves about elected officials and candidates. By providing this information in an easy and accessible manner, Project Vote Smart believes that citizens can better defend themselves from the political hype and misrepresentation characteristic of present day political campaigns. Interns play a crucial role at Project Vote Smart and make up the vast majority of our staff. Interns must commit to ten consecutive weeks, but may intern anytime during the year. We accept applications on a rolling basis and have no deadline, but interns are encouraged to submit their applications early because space does fill up quickly. Interns live on-site at the Project's Great Divide Ranch and scholarships pay for all living costs, including room and board.

Position: Internship in Qingdao China

Location: Qingdao, China

Description: A 6-12 month work-study opportunity for university students or graduates interested in learning Chinese and experiencing the culture of a beautiful city on the Chinese coast. Applicants must submit a resume, mission statement, two recommendation letters, a copy of passport and a graduation certificate or note from registrar stating this is the year of graduation.
