Urban Internships by Major

Please see below for a list of internships that students from each major might be interested in, based on the internships that students on the Urban Program have done in the past. Please note that the list is certainly not exhaustive, and that all internships are open to all majors.

There are also many internships in San Francisco that are available which are not listed here, and we can accommodate students from any and all majors.

Philosophy

In the past, Philosophy majors on the Urban program have interned at a variety of internship placements, depending on their interests. Although these placement sites are related to your major, you are also welcome to pursue any of our other internships.

General Assistance Advocacy Project (GAAP)

This organization serves homeless and marginally housed San Franciscans by helping them obtain the public benefits to which they are entitled. So long as there is a need for public benefits, GAAP provides education, empowerment and advocacy to our clients through the involvement of law students, undergraduates and community volunteers. www.gaap.org

San Francisco Public Defenders Office

The San Francisco Public Defender’s Office provides legal representation to over 25,000 indigent people charged with crimes each year. We aspire to be a nationwide model for the delivery of indigent defense services and programs to help people turn their lives around. http://www.sfgov.org/pd

Please use the internet search engine links on our internships page for more internship possibilities in your major. Please note that you are welcome to pursue any of our internships regardless of your major.
