Internships

By participating in an internship, you can hone your skills, begin a network of employer contacts, assess your strengths, and try out classroom theories in the workplace. Don’t pass up this opportunity to explore the opportunities available! Employers and graduate schools look for students with one or more career-related experiences.

What is an internship? It is a work-learning arrangement. The arrangement is supervised and career-related. It is combined with a reflective, academic study that helps you “learn by doing.” When you embark on an internship, you participate in a concurrent course that gives you a chance to read about and discuss issues of calling (either major-specific or general), to reflect critically about what it means to be a Christian in the workplace and to process work experience in a community of peers. Internships are available in both the fall and spring semesters and are at least 12 weeks in length. The hours vary to accommodate the specific requirements of the internship, your major and your course load.
