Monroe Scholarships (full-tuition) 2008-2009
The Monroe Scholarship is a four-year, full-tuition scholarship offered to a few exceptionally high-achieving first-year students each year. Monroe recipients enrich the Westmont community through their exceptional academic abilities, strong values, character and desire to grow in their Christian faith.
Early Action admission and receipt of a President’s Scholarship is required to be considered for a Monroe Scholarship. Candidates will be invited to Westmont in early spring to compete in a selection process. Awards are announced one week later. Visit our Monroe Scholars website for more information:
Other Academic Scholarships 2008-2009
Westmont academic scholarships are determined at the time of admission and are based on the academic profile submitted at the time.
These scholarships are awarded to first-year and transfer students who have distinguished themselves as confirmed by their high school or college academic profile. Scholarships are presented with notification of Early Action and Regular Decision admission.

These awards may be renewed annually, up to a total of eight consecutive semesters, provided the student is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate and maintains the required minimum GPA at Westmont for the scholarship awarded.
Westmont Merit Awards for National Merit Finalists are awarded up to $2,000.
Westmont Talent-Based Scholarships 2008-2009
Talent scholarships are available in athletics, art, dance, theatre, and music. Applicants interested in these programs must contact the respective departments and follow the instructions for application process and deadlines.
Westmont Cultural Diversity Awards 2008-2009
Cultural diversity awards range from $1,000-$4,000, are not based on need and are renewable each year as long as the recipient remains in good academic standing. These scholarships are competitive, and students must complete an application containing two essay questions. Essays are read for depth of insight into the applicant's cultural heritage and/or cross-cultural experiences. Students may request an application for the cultural diversity award from the Office of Admission no later than April 1, 2008. Only incoming students may request to apply for this scholarship.
Westmont Computer Science Scholarships 2008-2009
Scholarships are awarded to students who demonstrate financial need and an interest in and commitment to the field of computer science. Award amounts will be based on unmet financial need up to a maximum of $10,000 per student. For more details, visit the Computer Science department website.
State and Federal Aid
Governmental grants and loans are another important resource for paying for college. Bear in mind that grants are gift aid that never need be repaid. Loans are repaid usually after you leave college, and may be deferred if you attend graduate school. Here are some of the federal and state financial aid programs that Westmont administers.

| Federal Perkins Loan | Up to $3,000 in low-interest loans for students demonstrating sufficient financial need. |
| Federal Stafford Loan | From $3,500 to $5,500 in low-interest, subsidized and unsubsidized loans, based on financial need and class level. |
| Federal Parent Loan (PLUS) | Non-need-based, low-interest loans to parents, based on credit worthiness, up to the cost of attendance, minus all other financial aid. |
