Transfer Students

Change your direction... come to Westmont!

Concerned about graduating on time? Concerned about getting classes? Concerned with tuition increases at public institutions? Then, change your direction. Apply to Westmont!

  • Westmont has not been impacted by state and federal budget cuts.
  • We have not, and will not, cut any programs, faculty, or access to admission.
  • We remain committed to assuring on-time graduation! Westmont proudly boasts a four-year graduation rate of 73% (the national six-year average is 57%).

In reality, you are far better off transferring to Westmont. Think about this:

  • If your education drags on at some other school, the costs can add up quickly - particularly if your financial aid expires in four years!
  • Plus, you could lose thousands of dollars in earning power for every year you delay entering the workforce.
  • For fall 2012, the total costs to attend a UC could be $27,000 plus.  At Westmont, there are many, many students who don't pay even close to that amount.
  • Also, for those applying from out-of-state, Westmont does not charge out-of-state tuition.

Additionally...

  • Westmont does not require transfers to have completed a specified number of units/credits!
  • You can transfer to Westmont even if you are in your first semester/academic year of college.
  • Transfer evaluations will be completed upon admission so you will know exactly where you stand.

We encourage you to apply. Don't wait, apply now!

Transfers Need to Know
  • Academic Merit Scholarships are available to transfers!
  • Academic merit scholarship amounts are $3,000-7,000 and vary based upon a student’s academic profile.
  • Eighty-five percent of all Westmont students receive financial aid. Transfer students are eligible to apply for financial assistance, including academic merit scholarships.
  • We will need official transcripts of all college and high school work
These are essential as we want to properly evaluate all of your previous academic work and apply earned credits.
  • Please submit ONE academic letter of recommendation
This can come from a professor in an academic course or from an academic counselor. In addition, a pastoral/character reference letter may be submitted to enhance your application.
Note: A personal interview is not required. However, it may give you the opportunity to discuss important matters with an admission counselor.
  • Notification of Decisions
Notifications of decisions will be mailed on a rolling basis for the Spring 2013 semester and the Fall 2012 semester.

Articulation Agreements

To assist transfer students, the student records office has developed Articulation Agreements with many California community colleges. These agreements state precisely which courses will transfer to Westmont and meet general education requirements. If the articulation agreement for the community college you attend is not listed here, please call the Office of Admisison to speak with a counselor for guidance.
