DAVE WOLF
Athletic Director / Head Men's Soccer Coach
Head Coach Dave Wolf is entering his 14th season at the helm of the Westmont Men's Soccer program. With a record of 193-59-27 he is only nine wins shy of tying legendary coach Russ Carr with 202 Westmont victories. Wolf winning percentage (.740) is the best in school history.
A graduate of Wheaton College, Wolf helped lead the Thunder to a NCAA Division III National Championship in 1984 and was named an NCAA All-American in 1985. Following his graduation, he played one year in the Major Indoor Soccer League with the Chicago Sting and five years in the National Professional Soccer League with the Detroit Rockets, Indiana Kick and Memphis Storm. He also competed abroad with Missionary Athletes International and Lay Witness for Christ.
Wolf began his coaching career at Westmont in 1991 and has twice been voted GSAC Coach of the year as well as being named NAIA Far West Coach of the Year. His coaching accomplishments include back-to-back 20 win seasons (1994-95), advancement to the NAIA National Tournament six times, seven Golden State Athletic Conferences championships and 17 players named as NAIA All-Americans. From 1996-1997, Wolf was an assistant coach in the Olympic Development Program and he is currently the 2nd Vice President of the NAIA Men's Soccer Coach Association.
In 1993, Wolf received his Masters of Arts in Education with an emphasis in Physical Education from Azusa Pacific University. Academically, Wolf teaches Kinesiology and Physical Education courses including Psychology of Sport and Sociology of Sport. He has served as Westmont's Athletic Director since 1998.
Wolf and his wife Jill have five children, Tanner (9), Lauren (8), Bailey (6), Payton (4) and Jackson (17 months).
RYAN JORDEN
Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
Ryan Jorden has served as Assistant Men's Soccer Coach since the 2000 season. A graduate of Westmont, Jorden played for the Warriors from 1991-1994. Beginning in 1996, Jorden was an assistant coach with the men's soccer program at Oregon State. During his four years at OSU, he also complete an MA in Exercise Science.
During the 2003 season, Jorden took a leave of absence to pursue doctoral studies in biomechanics at the University of Northern Colorado. In addition to his coaching responsibilities, Jorden is a full-time member of the Kinesiology faculty, teaching courses in biomechanics, statistics, research methods and motor control. Jorden and his wife Liz are proud parents of one-and-one-half year old son, Graeme.
JOHAN FRISELL
Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
Johan Frisell begins his eighth season with the Warriors. He graduated from Westmont in 1997, earning All-American honors as a senior. He was also a three-time All-GSAC selection.
Originally from Sweden, he is the owner of Frisell Financial in Santa Barbara. Frisell and his wife Bethany have a two-year-old son, Peter.
DAVID JAY
Assistant Men's Soccer Coach
David Jay returns for his second season as an assistant with the men’s soccer team. Jay was a two-year starter for the Warriors in the goal, and ranks second all-time with a career goals-against-average of 0.79.
