Russ Carr Field

Russ Carr Field serves in the unique combination as the home turf for both Westmont soccer and baseball teams. It is named after Russ Carr, the long time coach and administrator for Westmont. He was head soccer coach from 1966-82, won a NAIA national title and a total of 209 games.

The natural grass outfield is home for the Warrior soccer programs. Both the men and women have produced impressive records at home, in both the regular season and in tournament play. The men's soccer team is 102-15-9 at home since 1990, while the women are 69-12-3 on Carr Field since 1993.

The Westmont baseball team also calls Carr Field its home. The facility has steadily been improved through the years. The "stadium" seating was installed in 1986 and a "makeover" in 2001 added to the facilities quality.

With the mountain views and a peak at the Pacific Oceans, Carr Field is an ideal place to spend an afternoon with Westmont soccer or baseball.

"...the setting has to be considered one of the most beautiful in college soccer," said local reporter Barry Punzal. "Tree surround the field which is situated at the base of the Santa Ynez mountains. There is bleacher seating, but a lot of fans watch the games sitting in lawn chairs or on blankets."

Murchison Gymnasium

(More pictures coming soon!)

Murchison Gymnasium has been the home for Warriors basketball and volleyball since it opened on January 4, 1969. The gym is part of an athletic complex that includes athletic offices, locker rooms, the training and a pool.

The facility is named after Hugh R. Murchison, a former member of the Board of Trustees and a benefactor and friend of the school. The gym seats 1,600 for basketball and volleyball, and 2,400 for chapel, musical presentations and convocations.

The men's basketball team has won nearly 80-percent of its home games in Murchison Gym. In the last 23 years, the Warriors are an impressive 266-66 at home. Although the women's basketball team just recently began competition, they are 21-8 at home in the past two seasons.

The volleyball has also built a convincing home record, going 101-37 in Murchison since 1990.

Westmont Pool

The Westmont pool is located directly behind Murchison Gymnasium. The pool serves as variety of purposes, included being used for swimming classes, rehabilitation and training, and recreation. In addition, Westmont students have formed swimming and water polo clubs which use the facility.

In the summer months, the pool is used for recreation by hundreds of kids who attend summer camps on Westmont's campus. Pool memberships are available Westmont faculty and staff, as well as residence of the surrounding community. Smaller pools for young children are also available in the summer.

The pool has immediate acces to locker room and shower facilities.

A new complex for the Westmont track and field and soccer teams is currently in the fundraising stage. The $1.3 million facility will include a state-of-the-art all-weather track, a new competition soccer field within the track, and permanent spectator seating.

When completed, the facility will certainly be one of the most scenic outdoor sports complexes in the country.
