In 1976, Westmont received permission to increase enrollment to 1,200, but we haven’t added new buildings to serve more students. In fact, we have less than half the square footage per student of the top-ranked liberal arts colleges in our peer group. In 1994, we decided to construct two academic buildings, but the county asked us to revise our master plan first. We began a lengthy, detailed and costly process to develop, review and submit an updated master plan, which the county finally approved in 2007. Under the terms of this plan, we have a limited period of time to build the facilities in the Bright Hope for Tomorrow campaign. Now is the time God has given us to complete these essential buildings.
