Course Overview:
A continuation of Principles I, the theoretical study in MU 012 introduces the student to the elements of more advanced harmonic writing and analysis skills. The accompanying laboratory course will be utilized to further develop sight singing skills, rhythmic perception, aural proficiency, and more integration of computers with the conventional study of music.

Grading and Academic Policy:
Students are required to attend all lectures and labs. No more than three absences for M-W-F classes and two for T-Th classes will be accepted without penalty. Homework is mandatory and must be delivered by the due date in order to receive full credit. Tests are comprehensive by nature and there will be no make-up tests offered except for extenuating circumstances. All missing assignments and unexcused absences will force a subtraction of one point for each infraction from the mean average of the test scores at the end of the semester. The lab carries the same assignment and absence policy which is then subtracted from the mean average of sightsinging and dictation test scores.
