FAQs

Rates-  We are pleased to offer you new rates that are easy to understand and lower than you've ever paid before at Westmont.
Your long distance calls have been broken down into three simple categories and flat rates.

INTRASTATE =  9 cents per minute (calls within the state but out of our interlata)
INTERSTATE =  12 cents per minute (calls between different states)

Billing Cycles-  The Telecommunications Department closes its financial billing period every 24th or 25th of the month.  The bills are processed and then put into the campus mail boxes a few days later and should be received before the end of the month.  If you did not receive a bill but should have or have questions regarding the bill, contact the Telecom Department at x6026.

Minimum Durations-  Minimum Durations are the times allowed for your call to be connected before you are charged for that call.  For example if you call your Aunt Thelma in Provo, Utah and she doesn't answer her phone and you hang up after 21 seconds, you would not be charged for that minute.  If you let it ring 31 seconds you would be charged for that minute even if the phone is not answered.  Westmont College minimum durations are set according to our long distance carrier's minimum durations. They are:

INTRASTATE =  20 seconds
INTERSTATE =  20 seconds
INTERNATIONAL =  50 seconds
