Reading and Analysis 1

Read Chapters 1 and 2 from Brooks's The Mythical Man-Month.  In Chapter 1, Brooks identifies joys and woes inherent in the programming enterprise.  In Chapter 2, he identifies additional problems that he claims makes quantizing progress in terms of effort either impractical or impossible.  In your analysis, I want you to consider some reasons that you might not be convinced by his arguments.  Do either the joys or woes interact with the problems Brooks identifies in Chapter 2?  If so, in what ways?  Think about the arguments in Chapter 2.  What are possible objections to the author's claims?  Given these objections, can you prescribe an approach to alleviate the problems and overcome Brooks's Law?
