OBJECTIVES:

This course explores biblical, historical, theological contours of the wider contexts of Christian community. The course intends its participants:

• To gain an appreciation of historical teachings and practices of Christian traditions with regard to their wider worlds.
• To learn the social and ideological contexts of those teachings and practices.
• To strengthen our academic discipline, particularly regarding good critical reading, listening, oral discussion, and writing.
• To become actively and personally engaged with the discipline of faithful Christian systematic theological enquiry.
