Staffing Westmont to Carry Out Its Mission Most Effectively

Westmont is a liberal arts college rooted in Christ. As the mission statement indicates, Westmont exists to help student grow intellectually, socially, and spiritually. Our distinctive mission requires faculty and staff who are fully committed to carrying it out.

The two statements that follow provide a foundation for our life together and give us guidance in our teaching and our living. The Statement of Faith expresses those core truths that underline our mission. It reflects Westmont’s evangelical, Protestant heritage and is the springboard for our teaching, learning, and living.

Also included is Westmont’s Community Life Statementwhich is an important description of the common vision we share and the mutual commitments we make to one another by choosing to be part of this community. Westmont’s education occurs within a residential campus community—an ongoing learning and living environment where faculty and staff help student cultivate patterns of adulthood and redemptive living. The Community Life Statement gives us guidance as we pursue this important vision.

Because we are a residential community of learners, all faculty and staff have an impact on the college’s ability to help students grow intellectually, socially, and spiritually. Therefore, all regular employees are required to support Westmont’s mission as liberal arts college rooted in Christ and to demonstrate this support by affirming the Statement of Faith and agreeing to abide by the Community Life Statement.

If you would like to be part of a community like this and help us carry out our distinctive mission, then we encourage you to apply.

Blessings on you,
