  • Alumni from the 1950s reconnected in Hieronymus Lounge, including Dwight Anderson '53 and Art Nelson '52.
  • President Gayle Beebe spoke to members of the President's Associates and Wallace Emerson Society at a special reception in the newly remodeled Voskuyl Library.
  • Alumni were invited to read old Horizon newspapers and look at photos since Westmont's founding in the college archives.
  • The Welcome Back BBQ had something for everyone, including a bounce house and face painting to keep the kids busy while parents were mingling.
  • Alumni from all reunion years gathered at the Welcome Back BBQ, including Mindy Wolfe '94.
  • A BBQ wouldn't be complete without live music, and what better way to support our student musicians! “Bachelor 'til the Rapture” performed their unique mix of folksy bluegrass sounds to the delight of all alumni.
  • The BBQ location on the sloping lawn outside of the new Winter Hall for Science and Mathematics was the perfect setting to enjoy a beautiful Santa Barbara sunset.
  • Physics faculty and members of the astronomical society opened up the new observatory for a late night star viewing.
  • The views from the deck of the new observatory can't be beat, whether you are searching for stars in the sky or watching a game on the soccer field.
  • The class of 1981 had one of the best reunion turnouts this year, including Steve and Kelly Bagdanov, Ed and Lorinda Dry, and Roy and D'Aun Goble.
  • Always a Homecoming highlight, the Alumni Reunion Brunch was held on Magnolia Lawn to a sold-out crowd.
  • The 2011 Alumni Award Recipients
  • The alumni award for Global Service was presented this year to Teresa Goines '97, for her work with at-risk youth at Old Skool Cafe, a supper club which she founded in San Francisco.
  • The Young Alumni award recognizes graduates from the past 10 years who have distinguished themselves in their professional careers, show promise for the future, and whose lives model Christian principles and Westmont's values. This award was given to Josh Daneshforooz '08.
  • The 2011 Alumnus of the Year award was presented to the Rev. Dr. Norm Nelson '61, president and on-air host of Compassion Radio (and the founder of Westmont's very own Spring Sing!).
  • The Santa Barbara sunshine was bright and the weather glorious as alumni enjoyed brunch and presentations in the shadow of Kerrwood Hall.
  • Reconnecting and reminiscing was the theme for the weekend and, of course, showing off the kids! Rick '93 and Shelley '94 Fogg brought two future Warriors to introduce.
  • Young alumni gathered at the top of the observatory deck for sips and chips during the women's soccer victory against San Diego Christian.
  • A record number of young alumni (graduates from the last ten years) made their way to the top of the observatory deck to catch up with friends old and new.
  • The Warrior men put up a good fight against San Diego Christian, but ultimately lost 2-1.
