Disability Services Food Allergy
Some students residing on campus may have a food-related disability that limits their ability to fully and equally participate in our meal program. Examples of these may be an autoimmune disease such as celiac disease or allergies to products such as nuts, milk, eggs, wheat, etc. These students may need dietary modifications or an exception to the rule requiring on-campus students to participate in the meal plan. Possible modifications are available.
All reasonable accommodation decisions are made on a case-by-case, individual basis by the Disability Services Director in consultation with the student, Dining Services and when necessary, medical professionals, to obtain other helpful information. Not all disorders are necessarily disabilities. However, all documentation provided by student will be taken into consideration.

- Email or call to speak with Kenny Chism, the Sustainability and Marketing Manager: firstname.lastname@example.org, 805-565-6082 and ask to set up an appointment to discuss foods available in the Dining Commons that may meet or limit your dietary needs. After completing this first step, students desiring accommodations or modifications to their meal plan must follow the designated procedures with the Office of Disability Services (ODS). Once forms are received by ODS, make an appointment with director by email at firstname.lastname@example.org by phone at 805-565-6135, alt ph:805-565-6186. Student and Director will meet to discuss possible accommodations. If a student qualifies for accommodations, a letter will be written to the Housing Office and those needing to know will be notified of specific accommodations.
