• Each of the four classes meets for two to three weeks for three to five hours per weekday during the 10-week program.
  • Students take courses consecutively with subsequent classes building on material in previous classes.
  • Students can expect to work 8-10 hours per day (40-50 hours per week), including time in class and homework assignments due most days.
  • The intensive program may appeal to development practitioners and undergraduates seeking to complete the certificate between their junior and senior years in college.
  • Recent college graduates may wish to take the summer intensive course to add statistical and computational skills to their undergraduate major in an area such as global studies, sociology, economics, or political science.
  • Students complete each of the four courses in sequence, with each taking about half a semester.
  • Students may participate in an optional part-time internship in San Francisco for one semester or for the entire academic year. Some internships may be paid.
