Office of the Registrar Spring 2020 Pass/No Credit Policy

For Spring 2020, students may file a request to take one or more of their courses for a grade of Pass or No Credit rather than for a traditional letter grade. Courses taken for General Education, major, or minor credit that receive grades of P will still count for that same credit.

Students will need to consult with their academic advisor and the instructor of the course prior to submitting the request form below. Varsity athletes will need to consult with their varsity coach. In cases where a student makes this change, if the student’s letter grade at the end of the semester is a D- or above, it will be converted by the Student Records Office to a grade of Pass (P).  For courses in which the letter grade is an F, the Student Records Office will convert the F to a grade of No Credit (NC). Grades of P or NC will not be computed in the student’s grade point average.

Students will need to submit an individual request for each course, and requests are due April 20 at 3:30 p.m.  All requests will be evaluated by the Student Records Office and a final confirmation will be sent to the student and the faculty member.  Once a student has changed the grading method to P/NC for a course, the change cannot be reversed.

The P/NC online form has now been removed as the deadline has passed.
