How did you end up at Westmont? I had the amazing experience of being drawn here. God really seemed to pick my family (Sarah and our three daughters: Maggie (8), Lucie (6), and Grace (1)) and me up and place us at Westmont, and we are so excited to see the work he has for us to do here!

Favorite thing about Westmont? The people here are fantastic! I have been warmly and sincerely welcomed and my family has been embraced by the community as well.

Favorite college memory? My roommates and I started an underground satire newspaper for the campus and we were successfully able to keep our identities unknown for the whole year! Also choir tour in Europe, symposium days, and of course meeting my wife, Sarah!

Favorite book(s) in your library? Books of poetry by Langston Hughes, Dylan Thomas, Denise Levertov, and Billy Collins; Lord of the RingsNot the Way It's Supposed to Be, by Cornelius Plantinga; Biblical Ethics and Social Change, by Stephen Charles Mott; Divided by Faith, by Emerson and Smith; and Mister Frumble's Coffee Shop Disaster, by Richard Scarry

What makes you cryReading certain books to my girls--like stories that embody redemptive love or stories of women around the world who showed strength, courage, and resourcefulness; or when I have moments of connecting to the big picture of God's work in the world and the grand scope of the gospel. Also sometimes simply noticing beauty gives me that catch in my breath and unexpected tear.

What hidden skill or talent do you have that most people wouldn't guess? Cooking with canned tuna. Also conversing in the made up language of Op (linguistically similar to Ub-for those more versed in that sister dialect)
