Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Science, Physical Therapy, Fitness and Health
Dr. Walters completed his bachelor of science in health and human performance at Montana State University and then earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree at Chapman University. He is currently completing a Doctor of Science (ScD) in rehabilitation science at Texas Tech University and is studying the effects of clinician language on self-efficacy and physical performance in subjects with low back pain. Dr. Walters is a board-certified Orthopedic Clinical Specialist (OCS) by the American Board of Physical Therapy Specialties and a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) by the National Strength and Conditioning Association. He joined the Westmont faculty in 2012, and his expertise includes orthopedic manual physical therapy (OMPT), rehabilitation science, biomechanics and pain science. In addition to his academic role, Dr. Walters also oversees the Potter's Clay physical rehabilitation team, which is a component of a larger Westmont run missions trip that serves individuals in Ensenada, Mexico.
