Residence Life Check-In Process & What to Bring
Fall 2017 Check-In
New Students should check into their respective residence halls on Thursday, August 24. Please follow the signs to park and proceed to your residence hall. Student volunteers will be available from 8am until 1pm to help unload vehicles and carry belongings to rooms.
Residence Hall Staff will be available at the following times to assist students with check-in:
- All Transfer and Consortium 8:00-9:30am
- Last names beginning with A-J 8:00-9:30am
- Last names beginning with K-R 9:30-11:00am
- Last names beginning with S-Z 11:00-12:30pm
Returning Students will complete their check-in the weekend leading up to the first day of fall semester (August 26-27), as to not interfere with new student check-in and orientation activities. Residence hall staff will be available for check-in at the following times:
- Saturday, August 26, from 10:00-2:00pm or 7:00-9:00pm
- Sunday, August 27, from 7:00-11:00pm
Important: Incoming residents must complete check-in during one of the listed times. Moving into the room outside of these times could result in a $50 charge.
Some student groups may be allowed to return to campus earlier than scheduled check-in dates, but these must be approved in advance. This information is available at Special Housing>Early Fall Arrival and Fall Housing Assignments>Returning Students.
Spring 2018 Check-In
Returning residents may return to their campus room assignments the weekend leading up to the first day of spring semester (January 6-7). Residence Halls open at 12 PM on Saturday, January 6.
Students who are new to Westmont, or returning from an away-abroad program during the fall, or returning as a reapplicant for the spring, may complete their check-in with their residence hall staff at the following times:
- Saturday, January 6, from 12 PM – 2:00 PM OR 7:00 – 9:00 PM
- Sunday, January 7, from 7:00 PM – 11:00 PM
Important: You must complete check-in during one of the listed times. Moving into your room outside of these times could result in a $50 charge.
