Residence Life Life in Santa Barbara

Welcome to Santa Barbara! We love living in this Spanish influenced city and we are excited for you to call this place your home for the next 4 years. It’s best known for it’s sandy beaches, great waves, vibrant sunsets, delicious food, and great activities! We value being connected to our city and we think you'll agree that it's a fun place to live. Check out some of our top ways to enjoy Santa Barbara!

Ask Your RAs What They Do for Fun in SB!

Here are some RAs' thoughts:

I love SB because it has all the benefits of a big city with all the community of a small town. In Santa Barbara some of my favorite things to do are play beach volleyball with friends or watch the sunset from Shoreline Park. Nothing beats a good cup of coffee with friends at Handlebar or some Lucky Penny pizza!

Santa Barbara truly has all I could ask for! I love that you can hike to waterfalls or rock climb in Los Padres National forest and then head to the beach for a surf and a sunset. A peaceful sunset skate up on Mountain Drive, early morning surf at Hammonds, a stroll through the botanical gardens, or a quick dip at Butterfly Beach in between classes cannot be beat.

As a big city girl I tend to be very fast paced, so I love SB because it helps me slow down and be present. I'm all for spontaneous adventures to the beach, picnics on the mission lawn, and late night visits to the pier.
