Campus Life Spring Sing

CLICK HERE FOR The spring sing PHOTO AND VIDEO GALLERY

At Spring Sing, Westmont students from each residence hall produce Broadway-style skits and compete for prizes and bragging rights. The longest-running tradition on campus, this event involves more students than any other Westmont activity. Performers in the 59th annual Spring Sing will use song, dance and an occasional faculty/staff guest appearance to tell a story about this year’s theme.

Spring Sing is admittedly a wonderful and challenging event because of the breadth and scope of the program and its audience. It has long been the policy and practice of Spring Sing to err on the side of caution and limit any content that could be confusing, misinterpreted, or potentially offensive. The care and dialogue required for important conversations, specifically on critical topics like race, ethnicity, gender and sexuality is simply not present in the fast moving, comedic venue that is Spring Sing. For many years, the Spring Sing team has taken a cautious approach to minimize potential offense or confusion. While the product is never perfect it is intended for a broad and general audience. Spring Sing staff would welcome any follow up questions or discussion on our policies or practices.

FAQs

Tickets:

Where can I buy a ticket?

Tickets are sold through AXS.com or at The Bowl Box Office.  If you live in the Santa Barbara area, you are able to purchase tickets directly from the Santa Barbara Bowl box office.

Purchasing at the Bowl Box Office is the most efficient way to buy tickets.

When is the Box Office open?

The Bowl Box Office hours are 11am to 6pm, M-F. The Box Office will also be open beginning at 3pm the day of the show.

Please note: The Bowl Box Office does not accept telephone orders.

Didn't Westmont used to sell tickets on campus?

Yes. We used to sell tickets on campus but due to a variety of reasons we are now selling only through AXS.com or The Bowl Box Office.

Will Spring Sing sell out?

With a venue the size of the Santa Barbara Bowl we do not expect to sell out of seats and you should be able to buy general admission tickets on the day of the show from the Box Office.

But we do anticipate the reserved seats to sell out…so order yours early if you’d like a reserved seat!

Where will I be sitting if I purchase a general admission ticket?

Take a look at the seating chart. Your general admission ticket will allow you to sit anywhere in sections A-I. This is marked "reserved" on the chart because it is reserved at other performances. For Spring Sing, this is our general admission area. Keep in mind that with the exception of a handful of seats, this section is first come first served! Doors open at 5:15pm and people arrive early!

Where will I be sitting if I purchase a Preferred/Reserved ticket?

These tickets save you a seat in the preferred seating section. Take a look at the seating chart. Your reserved ticket will save you a seat in Sections J - O.

Why buy a reserved ticket?

Reserved tickets give you the freedom to arrive to the show minutes before and still have a great seat.

Where do I pick up my tickets?

Tickets purchased through AXS.com can either be mailed to your home (fee applies) or held at will call.  Alternatively, you can purchase tickets directly from The Bowl Box Office.

Parking:

Where can I park?

There are three parking options:

1) Street Parking: keep in mind that parking is limited and you might need to walk a bit.  Please do not block any driveways or park in “no parking” zones.

2) Santa Barbara High School (700 E. Anapamu Street) for $15.  It is conveniently located across the street from the venue. Most people do this.

3) Bowl Parking Lot Pass for $20.  Spots are limited and can be purchased in advance or at the Bowl lot if space is still available. Bowl Parking Lot passes will go on sale at 12 noon on February 28th. The day of the show the online reservation is closed and spots can only be purchased directly at the Bowl lot.

Why should I buy a Bowl Parking Lot Pass?

Reserved seating is great if you just want to guarantee a good seat. A Bowl Parking Lot Pass will give you the luxury of showing up later than the crowd and having a parking spot reserved. Grab dinner before the show, pull into a saved parking spot, and go find your reserved seat!

Can I buy more than one parking pass?

No. The system will only allow you to purchase one parking pass at a time.

Where do I pick up my parking pass?

There will be no physical parking pass. When you order a Bowl Parking Lot Pass you will receive a confirmation email and your name will be added to the parking list. Please be ready to show ID upon arriving to The Bowl so we may check for your name on the parking list.
