Rick Ifland is the department chair and the founding director of Westmont's Eaton Program for Entrepreneurship and Innovation (http://blogs.westmont.edu/eatoncenter/). He teaches courses in Executive Leadership (with President Beebe), Entrepreneurship, Innovation, Strategy and related subjects. He and his wife lead business students in his Business at the Bottom of the Pyramid course in an annual trip to Port de Paix, Haiti to help alleviate poverty in the city. As a result of this course, Westmont students have started over 30 small businesses with Haitian owners to date.
Still active in private equity investing, Rick is the Managing Partner of Oxford Holdings LLC, the CEO of Omega Ophthalmics LLC (http://www.omegaophthalmics.com/lens/), and the President of Barna Global LLC (https://www.barna.com/about/), the global arm of the Barna Group.
Rick previously served on Westmont’s Board of Trustees and has been awarded a doctorate (D.Sc., Honoris Causa) for his leadership in establishing non-governmental organizations to help the poor throughout the Middle East and Africa.
