5x5: Westmont College Celebrating 85 Years Bidding Instructions
How the auction works:
All artworks in this exhibition are available for sale exclusively through the Givergy auction platform. To bid, you will need to register for the auction through the Givergy platform, as prompted. You can use your user name and password to login and bid, or check the status of an artwork any time until the auction closes on December 15, 5pm (PST).
All works begin with a minimum bid of $20. The minimum bidding increment for all works is $5. To place a bid, find a work you are interested in and enter your initial bid amount in the box. Please note that the amount you bid here will immediately increase the price of the work to that amount.
After entering your initial bid amount, click "Place Bid." You will then be directed to a page that notifies you of your bidding status (whether you are currently the highest bidder or if you have been outbid). Then, you will be given the option to make a maximum bid and enter the highest price you are willing to pay for that piece. The auction site will then bid in $5 increments on your behalf up to your maximum bid amount. Upon bidding you have the option to bid anonymously or have your name listed as high bidder. You will be notified via text message or email if you are outbid or if you win the item at the end of the auction on December 15, at 5pm PST.
The auction opens on Thursday, November 30, 2023, 9:00am (PST). Bidding will end on Friday, December 15, 2023 at 5:00pm (PST). We encourage you to bid early and/or bid often to avoid the possibility of not getting your bids in before the end of the auction.
When the auction has ended, your credit card will automatically be charged only if you have won an item and/or made a donation. You will then be sent a text and/or email notification with a confirmation of your payment.
Receiving Purchased Items:
Works can be picked up in person or sent to you in the USPS mail, similarly to how they were received from artists. Works that are mailed will be packed and shipped directly to you in a cardboard mailer, with insurance and tracking information. Shipping can be selected and paid for through the Givergy platform following the close of the auction. We will try to mail your works as soon as possible, but please allow for up to 2 weeks handling time.
In person pick up at the museum will be available December 18-21, between 10am & 4pm, or by appointment.
