Honors and Diplomas

Honors at Commencement (preliminary)

The honors that will be announced for you at Commencement are preliminary and will be based on your cumulative grade point average (Cum GPA) at the conclusion of fall semester 2007.

To qualify for honors a minimum of 56 units must have been completed at Westmont.  Work completed at Westmont sponsored off-campus programs is included in the honors calculation.

The honors categories are:
3.90 and above - Summa cum laude
3.75 – 3.89 - Magna cum laude
3.50 – 3.74 - Cum laude

Final Honors

The honors printed on your diploma and transcript will be based on your career GPA at the conclusion of spring semester 2008, or at the time all of the work you have completed at Westmont is posted to your academic record.

Diplomas

Your diploma will be mailed to you by August 2008, if you have completed all the requirements for your degree at the conclusion of spring semester 2008.  Diplomas will be mailed to the Legal Home Permanent (LHP) address that is stored in our student database.

If you will be completing all of the requirements for your degree after spring semester 2008 (e.g., Mayterm 2008 or summer 2008) your diploma will be mailed to your LHP address after all degree requirements have been fulfilled.  (Please remember to have final official transcripts sent to the Student Records Office if you take courses at another institution during the summer.)
