ACCREDITATION - WASC

Westmont has been a member of WASC (Western Association of Schools and Colleges) since 1957.  They currently have 151 members in their Senior Colleges and University Division.

The WASC accreditation process aids institutions in developing and sustaining effective educational programs and assures the educational community, the general public, and other organizations that an accredited institution has met high standards of quality and effectiveness.  The review process involves an institutional presentation developed in three stages, integrated and sequenced to support and promote institutional development and effectiveness: Stage 1: The Institutional Proposal: Stage 2: the Preparatory Review; and Stage 3: The Educational Effectiveness Review.

Westmont was granted 8 years of accreditation in June, 2007.  Re-accreditation will begin in Fall 2011 when our Proposal will be due.  The Capacity and Preparatory Review is scheduled for Spring 2014 and the Educational Effectiveness Review in 2015.
