JULY 12-16, 2015

Ashton Eaton, World Record Holder & Olympic Gold Medalist on Westmont College:

"When I arrived at the track at Westmont for the first time my eyes lit up. When you walk down the hill from campus to the track you get a sense of serenity as you look out over the perfectly groomed field towards the foothills and the ocean. It was like finding an oasis in a desert. The campus itself is a perfect little sanctuary tucked into the Montecito hills where I swear I could spend the rest of my life sitting under the oak trees."

You are invited to spend five exciting days at the Westmont Collelge Track & Field camp in Santa Barbara, California. You will learn about and practice your events in the world's greatest sport and become better prepared for next season's training and competition. Athletes entering grades 8-12 are invited to the camp. Features of this year's camp will include event training in the following areas.

  • Sprints & Hurdles
  • Distance & Cross Country
  • Horizontal & Vertical Jumps
  • Throws (shot put, discus and javelin)
  • Combined Events (Decathlon and Heptathlon)

You will gain valuable experience and insight into your event(s) while working with Westmont College coaches as well as Team USA athletes who train at Westmont year round as a part of the Santa Barbara Track Club. Additionally, current Westmont College student-athletes will serve as camp counselors for attending high school participants. Whether you are looking at Westmont as a potential college choice or simply seeking to improve in the sport, this will be a special week not to be missed.

Campers will stay in the Westmont College dorms and have meals in the campus dining commons. Counselors will lead group activities off of the track in addition to a "Beach day" that has become a camp favorite.
