Manager's Toolkit Requisition

The Staff Requisition begins the approval process for recruitment for a replacement to your staff. You will provide information about the position and attach the updated job description. Human Resources will complete the remaining information needed and then send it back to you for review and approval. It will then be sent to your division Vice President and the Vice President of Finance (who will take it to the Executive Team) for approval. It is your responsibility to discuss the opening with your Vice President.

Recruiting activity cannot begin until:

  • The Requisition is approved by the Executive Team.
  • A discussion takes place between you and the appropriate vice president (Provost or Vice President for Enrollment, Marketing, and Communications), to review the manager’s hiring strategy in light of college diversity objectives (see Diversity Conversation).

After the Staff Requisition is approved, significant changes made to the job description (e.g. work schedule, level of responsibility, required qualifications, and/or benefits eligibility) will require re-approval.

The staff requisition process can take 1-2 weeks so please plan accordingly.
