Westmont Magazine Seven Straight GSAC All-Sports Awards
For the seventh straight year, Westmont captured the Golden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) All-Sports Award presented by Duke’s Restaurant in Huntington Beach. The annual award recognizes the institution with the best regular season results. Westmont claimed second-place finishes in men’s and women’s cross country, women’s volleyball, women’s soccer, and women’s basketball. Women’s tennis won a GSAC championship by going undefeated (12-0) in conference play. Westmont men’s and women’s track and field helped secure the All-Sports trophy with their seventh and third consecutive GSAC championships, respectively. No Warrior team finished below fourth in the GSAC standings.
During the 2018-19 season, Westmont sent 11 of 14 teams to compete in the NAIA National Championships. Three Warriors won individual national championships. Seth Wilmoth won the men’s pole vault at the Indoor Track and Field Championships. At the Outdoor Track and Field Championships, Dana Nemitz won the women’s pole vault, and Pieter Top defended his national championship in the decathlon.
