Music, Theater, Art for Valentine’s Dinner

The Westmont Music, Theater, and Art Departments join forces for the love of the arts to offer the first Valentine’s Arts Soiree, “A Fairy Tale,” on Valentine’s Day, February 14, beginning at 5 p.m. at Westmont’s Porter Theater. The magical evening includes delicious catered food, a silent auction and a romantic concert by the Westmont Orchestra. A limited number of tickets, which cost $100 per person, may be purchased at westmont.edu/valentines. For group tickets or sponsorship opportunities, please call (805) 565-6040. Concert-only tickets will be available for $10 at the door beginning at 6:45 p.m. at Page Multipurpose Room.

“The romantic evening will include lively theatrical and musical presentations, including the orchestra’s performance of the magical tales of Josef Suk’s symphonic poem ‘A Fairy Tale’ and Alexander Borodin’s stunning ‘Polovetsian Dances,’” says Michael Shasberger, Westmont’s Adams professor of music and worship.

Over the course of the evening, guests will also view romantic vignettes in the theater, take a private tour through “Modern Masters” at the Westmont Ridley-Tree Museum Art Museum, and enjoy a lovely dinner. Throughout the event, guests may also participate in a silent auction.

Proceeds from the evening will go to support the Art, Theatre and Music programs at Westmont.
