Life-history Evolution, Comparative Endocrinology, Behavioral Ecology
Dr. Amanda Sparkman graduated from Westmont College in 2003 with degrees in both English and Biology. She attended graduate school at Iowa State University, earning a Ph.D in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology in 2009.
For the next two years, she was a post-doctoral researcher at Trent University in Ontario, Canada. Her primary research emphases are the evolution of life histories in snakes and social and population dynamics of wolves.
Dr. Sparkman joined the Westmont faculty in 2012. She will be teaching Introduction to Life Sciences, General Biology, General Ecology, Evolutionary Biology, Behavioral Ecology and Ornithology/Herpetology courses.
