Personal Information:
Christine joined the faculty in 1978 and has assumed various roles in the Kinesiology Department. After completing her graduate work at the University of Oregon, she brought to our department a passion for working with people who have disabilities, the older population and introducing students to the discipline of Kinesiology through her Foundations course. Her last sabbatical included specific training in the field of gerontology, culminating in a new course on the social, psychological and physical effects of aging. As past Department Chair, she played a crucial role in the development of the Kinesiology curriculum, helping to grow our major to over one hundred students. One of her special delights as a faculty member has been her involvement in the development of the Kinesiology Europe Mayterm program. This program has introduced over 60 students to the research and professional studies of sport science in Europe. Christine teaches Special Populations, Foundations, Fitness for Life, various activity courses and heads up our internship program.
