Orientation Move-In
Student move-in is scheduled for Wednesday, September 23rd - Sunday, September 27th. Sign-ups for move-in slots are available on the Residence Life check in page.
When you arrive to campus for move in students should plan to use the main campus entrance on La Paz Road and bring the email confirmation of your move in time. You will pass by the lower campus entrance and be greeted at the main entrance. You will have a 2-hour move-in slot and you will be able go directly to your room upon your arrival to campus. Please plan to move in your belongings and complete your digital Room Condition Inventory (RCI) within these two hours. After your 2-hour move-in slot, please use your discretion when moving remaining items to ensure you are leaving stairwells and entryways open for other students who are scheduled to move-in.
COVID-19 Testing: During your designated move-in day, you will be asked to complete a COVID-19 test within an hour after your move-in slot at one of the two campus testing locations on Clark lawn or in front of Murchison gym. You will receive more information via email regarding the testing process.
Check-In Time with Residence Life 6pm-8pm: You will be expected to meet the residence life staff from 6pm-8pm on the day of your move-in to complete your check-in process, where you will receive your room key, be welcomed by residence life staff, and receive important information regarding living on campus. Failure to check-in with Residence Life staff between 6pm-8pm the day of your move-in could result in a $50 improper check-in fee.
Limited Guests & Face Coverings: You will allowed to have 2 guests (anyone not including yourself) to assist you in the move-in process. You and your guests will be expected to wear face coverings while on campus and in the residence hall. At the end of the 2-hour move-in slot, your guests will need to leave campus to create space for others to move-in and get settled.
Discretion with Stairwells: Stairwells in all the residence halls will be strategically designated to promote social distancing in the move-in process. Signage will be used to mark entrance, exits, and possible arrows to direct traffic flow. Though it may be tempting, please do not congregate in the stairwells or hallways to visit with friends or suitemates. Instead, meet outdoors in compliance with our social distance protocol.
Hospitality Station: There will be a hospitality station location on the Dining Commons (DC) lawn to answer any questions you might have and assist you with campus logistics. New students are asked to stop by the hospitality station to have their ID card photos taken between 3-5pm on either their move-in day or the day after.
Please consider bringing a reusable water bottle with you for Move-In. Due to COVID-19, we will not be providing beverages on move-in day, but there are touch-free water bottle filling stations at the dorms.
There will be a number of orientation activities for new students and transfers on Saturday, September 26th - Sunday, September 27th. We recommend that new students and transfers move-in before 5pm on 9/26 to take full advantage of these activities.
