E.L Wiegand Foundation Turns Athletic Aspirations into Reality

Westmont Athletics unveiled a sweeping renovation this spring: a new Sports Performance Center and a revitalized Sports Medicine Facility. The E.L. Wiegand Foundation made this transformative milestone possible with a generous $300,000 grant. The comprehensive overhaul has redefined the physical space and elevated the overall experience for Warrior student-athletes.
Erik Hansen, Westmont’s dedicated sports performance coach, played a significant role in this achievement. His forward-thinking leadership and unwavering commitment to student-athlete development helped secure the funding for the thoughtfully designed facilities, which comply with the evolving standards of collegiate athletics. Erik’s vision ensured the spaces would meet expectations — and set new ones.
The newly renovated Sports Performance Center now boasts a full suite of state-of-the-art strength and conditioning equipment, expansive functional training areas, and updated aesthetics that reflect the excellence Westmont strives for in every detail. These improvements exceed cosmetic upgrades. They boldly represent Westmont’s holistic approach to athletic development: physical performance, prevention of injury and restorative care seamlessly integrate into the daily rhythm of student-athlete life.
The entire department extends its deepest gratitude to the E.L. Wiegand Foundation for its remarkable generosity and to Erik Hansen for his tireless dedication to achieving this aspiration. Their actions have laid a foundation for health, strength and success for years to come.
