Internship Option

Students who choose the internship option during the academic year will receive assistance in the application process and training in soft-skills such as resume writing, elevator pitch, and how to prepare for a successful interview. In addition, students will receive mentorship and supervision from program staff and faculty.

The program enjoys ongoing internship relationships with many leading San Francisco businesses and non-profit organizations, including:

  • Adobe Systems (Software)
  • Everlane (Women's Clothing/Social Business)
  • Global Ties (International Diplomacy)
  • Amnesty International (Human Rights)
  • International Rescue Committee (Refugees)
  • Not For Sale (Anti-Human Trafficking/Social Enterprise)
  • Patamar Capital (Venture Capital for SmallFirms in Developing Countries)
  • City Hope Ministries (Urban Poverty Programming)
  • YWAM/Because Justice Matters (Urban Outreach)
  • Humanity United (International Development).

Subsequent to completion of the certificate, students will be prepared for work in an exceptionally wide array of careers that might require undergraduate or master’s degrees in analytics, data science, economics, or computer science. The program will assist interested academic-year program students in applying for local internships that will take place the summer after completion of the certificate at the social-impact arms of San Francisco Bay Area companies such as Facebook, Omidyar Foundation (eBay), AirBnB, Twitter, and numerous others.

The program cannot guarantee internship placement.
