Biography/Details
Dr. Sommermann was born and raised in Germany and graduated from the Universitat Wurzburg with a degree in physics. He earned a master’s degree and doctorate in physics at the State University of New York at Albany and has taught at Westmont since 1985. He has received three research grants from the National Science Foundation focused on the dynamics of skyrmion interactions and collisions and one for an astronomy workshop at the University of Colorado in 1993. He received a Westmont Faculty Research Award in 1993.
