Biography/Details

Nita June received a BA in Theatre magna cum laude from Barnard College of Columbia University, then an MFA in Contemporary Performance from Naropa University. Her mentors, inspiration, and training include: Leigh Fondakowski (mentor), Steve Wangh (mentor--Grotowski method), SITI Company (Suzuki training), Roy Hart Voicework, BodyMind Centering (BMC) and Viewpoints. She has performed and directed in Boulder, Los Angeles, San Francisco, London, and is the founder of the local Santa Barbara theater company DogStar Theater. She is committed to supporting students to push themselves beyond where they think they can go and blossom into the performer/director/designer whom they seek to become.
