Dr. Van Haitsma graduated from Calvin College, earned a master’s degree in exercise physiology at Indiana University and completed a doctorate in exercise physiology at the University of Utah. He joined the Westmont faculty in 2014 after teaching at Georgetown College. His expertise includes human physiology, exercise physiology, human performance and clinical exercise physiology. His research interests focus on exercise-induced fatigue, immediate and long-term, and chronic fatigue syndrome. He enjoys the outdoors and cycling, whitewater kayaking, rock climbing and hiking.
