Implementation of a Teaching Performance Assessment
7.1 Identification of TPA Model
- Westmont College uses the CalTPA performance assessment for the MS/SS Teaching Credential Program.
7.2 TPA Coordinator

7.4 Scoring Option
- The Westmont Teaching Credential Program uses centralized scoring for the CalTPA. Scoring is completed by Pearson.
7.5 Appropriate Use of Materials
- All candidates receive a copy of theCalTPA/Pearson general Test Policies and Assessment Policies, which includes guidelines reviewing appropriate use of materials. These guidelines are reviewed in ED110/111 early in the fall semester.
7.6 Appeal Policy
- Any candidates who did not pass and would like to appeal their score can submit a Score Verification Form within 90 days of receiving their results. Additional details on this policy can be found on the CTC Score Verification Website.
7.7 Remediation Policy
- In the case that a student does not pass eighter CalTPA cycle, the Department Chair meets individually with the candidate to review the CalTPA/Pearson retake policy and share remedial support materials/opportunities.
