Prospective Employees Frequently Asked Questions
If you have a question and it is not listed below, please contact hr@westmont.edu and we will assist you as soon as possible.
Is there a closing date for applications?
All jobs are open until filled unless otherwise noted. Westmont reserves the right to fill or change open positions without prior notice.
Are applicants notified when their resume or application has been received?
No. We contact applicants directly only if we would like additional information or materials or to schedule an interview. We notify all applicants when a position is filled or the status changes.
Must I complete an application to apply?
Yes. Please complete our online application.
May I contact the department to find out more about the job?
Unless the hiring department lists a contact in the job posting, you should not contact the department directly. If you are interested in a job based on the posting information you should apply, and you will have the opportunity during an interview to ask questions.
If a job was posted a few months ago but still shows open on the web is it really still open?
If a job is listed on our Web site, it is considered open. Be aware some jobs take longer to fill than others. Once a job has been accepted, it is immediately removed from the site.
How is the pay range determined for a position?
Each position at the college is assigned a pay range based on pay for comparable positions in our job market. The pay rate for a new employee is based on applicable experience and background, as well as comparisons with the pay rates of other college employees.
If I’ve previously applied for a position at Westmont must I complete another application?
If you are interested in applying for more than one position at Westmont, please complete a new online application for each position. Once you are logged into the Online Employment Application, you can duplicate/copy an old application and change any relevant information for your new application.
Can I apply for more than one position at a time?
No. You'll need to submit one application per position you are interested in. Once you are logged into the Online Employment Application, you can duplicate/copy an old application and change any relevant information for your new application.
How may I get a listing of all positions currently available?
We do not distribute written position listings. All current openings are posted on our Staff Openings page. Westmont College complies with federal and state guidelines for nondiscrimination in employment.
Are general resumes accepted?
