Beach Days, the Westmont Way
Just minutes from campus, the coastline is a central part of life at Westmont College. With year-round sunshine and easy access to the water, students can turn an ordinary afternoon into a memorable experience with friends.
East Beach
The school-run shuttle makes multiple trips to and from East Beach each day, making it a popular gathering spot for Westmont College students. Lined with volleyball nets, the beach is a favorite destination for weekend tournaments where students can play or cheer from the sidelines. If you look closely enough, you might even spot dolphins jumping in the water!
Leadbetter Beach
Hop off the shuttle at the Pavilions stop, grab a coffee from Caffè Luxxe (maybe a cookie too), and take a 10-minute stroll to Butterfly Beach. More secluded than East Beach, Butterfly is the perfect spot for a picnic or a game of cards with friends. Students have even been spotted on the ledge making pancakes on portable griddles.

Whether it’s an early morning surf session, a sunset bonfire, or a spontaneous camping trip with friends, the coastline around Westmont College makes it easy to get outdoors and explore.
